Jennifer Update

Today, I realized that I have not updated everyone on Jennifer’s progress. Today, she went for her second appointment with the Occupational Therapist for the continued weakness in her right arm and hand. They expect her to have three weeks of therapy.

The neurologist is changing up some of Jen’s meds. We believe these changes will make a huge difference with her energy, focus and strength.

Jen took last week off to spend with the boys before school starts back tomorrow. But, she was back in the office today in full force. I’m not sure I will be able to keep up with her much longer. So, pray for me too!

Thank you to everyone who has prayed, called and shown support for us. You are all amazing! God is faithful and Jen is getting closer to the full healing God has promised us!

She will be completely healed!

Jennifer Update – Day 7

It was so good to get Jen back home yesterday. There was a marked difference in her headache after only a few hours of receiving the steroids.

The boys were so glad to see her home and Sadie (Jen’s dog) was super excited to have mommy back.

The migraine is not yet gone completely and Jen still has some marked deficiencies in her right arm and hand. They are setting up Occupational Therapy to build her strength and coordination back up.

Helen Fuller has been arraigning meals for us. She’s just that awesome. Thanks Helen!

Christy Huff brought dinner to the hospital Wednesday night and it was the best thing I had eaten all week. I ate all of mine and half of Jen’s. Helen hooked us up last night with spaghetti pie. I’m glad she didn’t make this for us. I ate Helen’s food before football practice and then came back for seconds. It’s been less than 24 hours and the brownies she made are already gone!

Thank you all for continuing to pray for us. God has blessed us tremendously and Jennifer is getting better every day! We love you all.

Jennifer Update – Day 4

I know I’ve blogged a lot today. That’s what happens when I get couped up in a room.

We just moved to a new, private room about 30 minutes ago. This is much better and quieter for Jen to rest. The headache has not changed as of yet (but it will). The neurologist said she will be able to go home when the migraine has subsided. They are trying a new med to get it under control.

We have had a tremendous outpouring of love, support and prayers for Jen. Local pastors and leaders have called, dropped by, Twittered and even emailed us. Our church family has been so gracious and offered to take care of our boys, wash our clothes, bring food to our house and more! I am so grateful that we are not alone.

If you have called or talked with me about wanting to bring food or help out, I ask you to contact Helen Fuller. Helen has been an angel and is coordinating the food chain supply. You can contact her via her blog or her Twitter.

Matthew and Jen Ray have let the boys crash at their place the last three nights. I owe them in a big way. Helen has pulled football duty and sat with Jen on Sunday while I was at church. And Terri… well Terri went above and beyond when she ran to the mall on Sunday and bought Jen and I a change of clothes. Why is this above and beyond? You be the judge…

Yes, she bought her pastor underwear. Yes, I think Helen almost passed out she was laughing so hard while trying to be quiet. We have amazing friends.

God is still faithful. Jennifer will be completely healed.

Jennifer update

Thank you to everyone who continues to pray for Jen. She feels about the same today. The CT scan and MRI both indicate that she did not have a stroke. In fact, the neurologist said the MRI today does not even show any evidence of the stroke she was diagnosed with two years ago!

Her “official medical” diagnosis is a migraine with prolonged aura. Kinda sounds like something that requires a priest and some holy water to get rid of. This type of migraine puts her at risk of a stroke. So, they have given us a stack of literature and information.

At present, she has better use of her right arm. The numbness in her face is almost gone. But, the headache remains. They are keeping her again tonight to try a new medication in order to stop the headache. Hospitals are slow. The doctor prescribed the new medication 3 hours ago and she has yet to receive it. Go figure. The idea is that if this impending drug works, she can go home tomorrow.

I received a call a couple hours ago from my aunt Charla Barnes and she provoked me. In her time of praying, Holy Spirit directed her that Jen’s healing was in my mouth. She did not call and pray for me. She provoked me.

Don’t speak the doctors report. Speak over her what you want for her. Claim what you want to see. Keep saying it over and over again.

She just texted me a few minutes ago and challenged me again. I am being obedient. I’m even going to go a step further and blog it.

Jennifer is healed. It’s just not evident yet. I want her free from pain in her head. I declare that her leg and back will be completely healed. Her mind is being renewed so she can think and speak clearly without a struggle. Her memory is being restored. The long list of drugs that she takes will not be a permanent remedy. Her ovaries will stop making cysts. Her days of chronic fatigue are coming to an end.

God, I know you listen to me. I’m pretty sure you know what’s posted on the ‘net too. You said You would give me the desires of my heart. Jesus didn’t take the beating for nothing. He took it for my wife. And so it is.

Words are very powerful. Are you speaking the promises of God or the report of man? Whose report will you believe? As for me, I will believe the report of the Lord.

What do you need to declare? Comment right now so we can all pray and agree with you.
