An amazing day already
Here is what has happened so far today.
- Our new 10 bay CD duplicator and full color CD printer arrived. Our media center is about to go to a whole new level.
- We made the decision to initiate some major systems changes. Over the next 3 months, we are going to see some significant improvements in how we support our ministries and interact with our church family.
- We had an amazing lunch with Jeff, Daryl, Tiffany, Drew, Brad and Dave from Lifepoint. I love what God is doing through their church. It was cool to see our teams interacting together.
- This comes on the heels of Carolyn and I having coffee yesterday with Mike from PC3. PC3 has on 10-11 more services until they move into their new building. That’s awesome.
- I made arrangements to do some promotion for a very big announcement coming soon. God is doing something huge at The ROCK. Not in the future. He’s doing it right now.
- Matthew helped Jen out today on the murals going in down the hall. A big part of the hallway is now blue. It’s exciting. WOOOHOO!
- Connecting with someone later today about some big vision things. If you cannot sense the intensity, your spidey sense is a little off.
- During lunch today, Jeff spoke to our staff (I didn’t give him any forewarning) and it was powerful and right on time for us. I love getting around guys that have big vision and are idiots for God. Thanks for hanging out with us today.
- I gotta get back to work. I can’t play Halo all day like some churches… Hey, somebody just shot me with a rubber band.

Yes, I’m a digital pack rat
Today, my computer decided it had enough of me and my over-abundance of files. During our creative meeting a message popped up telling me I was at a life-threatening, dangerously low level of available hard drive space.
WHAT?!?!?!
I have a 100GB hard drive. This is not possible. When I looked, it said I had 0 available megabytes of space. You read that right… 0.
Then I looked at the My Documents folder. There were a lot of files there but nowhere near enough to shut my computer down. My computer was gasping for air and I had to do something fast…
Finally, I found the culprit. I keep a folder on my desktop called, interestingly enough, Desktop Poo. It is not a shortcut to a network drive. It is just a dumping ground to keep my desktop uncluttered. Like this…
But my Desktop Poo folder looked like this…
That’s right. 15,518 files of what? Junk. That’s what.
So, I dumped them to an external drive, emptied the folder and made up with my computer.
Now, if I could just unclutter my mind the same way… There’s a sermon in there. I just know it.
Read MoreInbox Zero
Tonight, I decided to clear my inbox while Noah and Adam were at football practice. At 6:00pm, my inbox showed 990 emails. By the end of Adam’s practice at 7:30p, I saw something I have not seen in a long, long time.

I’m on a quest to Get Things Done and I am looking forward to the day when all my inboxes are at zero.
