Recapping Everything

During my recovery, I’ve been taking more pain killers to become a right wing talk show host. That’s made it a little difficult to post… at least coherently. This past Friday we passed the four week mark since surgery. The doctors are saying they may allow me to begin putting weight on my leg next week and begin walking before the year ends. God has been teaching me patience.
I’ve discovered that there are no shortcuts to learning patience. If you find yourself getting impatient, you’re still learning.
Now, on to the recap…
- It was another great weekend at ROCK Church as we completed our series everything. It’s a very simple, but difficult concept to apply to our lives. God made everything including us. All He asks in return is that we give Him all of who we are.
- This last week I challenged everyone to fast complaining during Thanksgiving week. I encouraged everyone to institute a complaint jar that would receive $1 each time you complained. At the end of the week, the contents of the jar was to be given away. I learned a lot about myself through this fasting exercise. What about you? Did you join us in the fast? If so, leave us a comment letting us know how your week went.
- It was awesome to have TJ back on stage spinning vinyl. I love having a DJ on stage during worship.
- Speaking of worship… it’s been refreshing seeing Abbye empowering the younger members of the team. Two Sundays ago, Abs stood on the second row as a backup singer and let Tyler and Lindsey lead us. Pouring into and empowering the next generation to lead gets me fired up.
- All of our volunteer teams have been stepping it up since we moved to double services in August. I love hearing the stories that are coming from all of our teams. Thank you for serving with excellence. I am honored to serve alongside you guys! You are an amazing Dream Team.
- Want to know something awesome?
Since moving to double services in August ROCK Church has grown by more than 20%.
We try very hard to take into account everyone who both serve and attend. It’s easy to add everyone twice just to have an inflated number. Our 20% growth is a very real number. What excites me about this is that it is a result of our church family inviting everyone you know.
- Want to know another amazing number?
Since January, 84 people have let us know that they gave their lives to Christ in our weekend services.
That does not even count salvations in FlipSide and Kid’s ROCK!
- Next Sunday we begin our Christmas series called HOPE. It’s going to be awesome!
- I am too excited about everything God is doing at ROCK Church. It is humbling to be a part of an amazing move of God. There is much more that I would love to share. But, I think I have begun to ramble. So, I’ll go for now.
Go ROCK Church! Go ROCK Church! Go!
