I love this church!

I am loving what God is doing at ROCK Church!

  • The Community Fun Festival was amazing! I was violently sick and missed it. But, I heard great reports from the event. We had over 100 volunteers who made it happen. Our volunteers are amazing! Thank you all for loving our city so much! Check out Carolyn’s pictures of the event here and here.
  • Dad just finished the Don’t Quit series yesterday. All I can say is WOW! I love that God showed us this message in our staff getaway last October. God knew this would be timely even back in October!
  • I spoke with a couple yesterday who came for the first time in over 3 years. They were seriously discussing divorce until they heard the message. God lined yesterday up to tell them DON’T QUIT!
  • I heard about someone in our church who is doing an amazing project to bless their former pastor. That is awesome!
  • We’re doing two services for Easter! This will allow every teacher and volunteer both serve and attend a service. Invite everyone you know to be here at 9:00 or 11:00.
  • Here is a thought to challenge you. Having an unsaved friend sitting next to you in church may be the greatest way to make a difference in our city and fulfill the vision of ROCK Church.
  • The creative element for this Sunday just may go down in history as one of my favorites. Don’t miss it!
  • Jennifer just told me that there are 9 children registered for dedication at Kid’s ROCK Live on Sunday, April 19th. I can’t wait!
  • Mark your calendars for Sunday, April 26th at 6:00pm. Our vision is about to get expanded BIG TIME! I’ll tell you more this Sunday.
  • This is probably one of my favorite seasons of ministry ever! WOOHOO!

Thank you

Today, I’m in a hotel in Anderson, SC about to head over to the Unleash Conference. Daryl contacted me two days ago and invited me to join the Lifepoint team of about 70 for the trip. What a blessing. I love that another church in our city believes in us enough to have me join them. Thank you Lifepoint!

With our Community Fun Festival happening this Saturday, I did not think I would be able to go. But, I’ve been watching Matthew step up his game leading our incredible staff and volunteers. Our staff said, “GO! We’ve got this!” You know what? They’re right. God has blessed me with an amazing team that is chasing the vision with me.

Thank you Rock Church! Thank you Lifepoint! Thank you Newspring!

I love you guys!

I love the fair

Community Fun Festival

I love the food. I love the rides. I love watching kids laugh. I love Wilmington.

Next Saturday, ROCK Church gives back to our community with the Community Fun Festival.

We’re gonna have a bunch of rides. Not little, inflatable ones. I’m talking the big, crazy ones. I’d mention they will all be free?

We’re also having some great bands including Election Sure, Carry The Wounded, Neptune 7, Chasing Eden and our very own ROCK Church band. Glory Academy of Fine Arts will also perform throughout the day.

Hungry? We’ll have vendors with some awesome, unhealthy food for an affordable price. You didn’t think we would have organic did you?

Early next week, over 8500 flyers go home with elementary school children inviting their families to come. Posters are up. Radio stations are broadcasting PSA’s and ROCKERS are buzzing with excitement. Clear your calendar and help us love on Wilmington.

Help us get the word out online with Twitter, Facebook, Myspace and anywhere else you can think. It’s going to be a blast!

Crazy Love Micro Mission Update

Crazy Love

This past Sunday, we put money in the hand of ever adult that came to ROCK Church. The mission:

  1. Use the money to show someone the love of Jesus.
  2. Give them a ROCK Church invite card.
  3. Tell them, “ROCK Church wants you to know Jesus loves you.”

Check out a few of these mission profiles we have received already this week.

One of our Kid’s ROCK volunteers couldn’t wait to call Jen and tell her about her experience. She listened to the message on her way home so she could open her sealed envelope. Once opened, she immediately went to a McDonald’s and bought lunch for a lady in line, handed her an invitation card and said, “ROCK Church wants you to know Jesus loves you.” The woman was so moved that she gave the ROCKER a $20 bill! When her objections were refused, she accepted the money. She told Jen, “Now I have $20 more to do it again!”

Or how about this email we received…

We put our seed money together and treated a single mom to lunch at Ruby Tuesdays! She is a single mom, with two great kids. She sacrifices a lot (doesn’t go out to eat, eats crackers or leftovers for lunch), trying to put her children through christian school. With the state of the economy, she has had to sell her house, and move into a garage apartment. She enjoyed herself and was very thankful to hear that “ROCK Church wants you to know that Jesus loves you.” We were so blessed to be a blessing!

This wall post I just received on Facebook made my day…Crazy Love Facebook

Have you done your Crazy Love Mission yet? If so, go fill out your mission profile now!
