There are many huge decisions before us right now. The excitement about what God is doing through our church is growing. August 31st is getting closer and closer. The decisions I am leading our team through keep getting bigger and bigger.
Right now, I am doing a lot of fasting and praying for God’s direction as we search for our next Director of Worship & Creative Arts. I will have some very exciting news about our progress on Sunday, June 15th about this process. We haven’t made a decision yet. But, the announcement will remind us all that God has it all under control.
This week, I was struggling with the weight of some of these decisions. Until late Tuesday afternoon when I spoke with Barbara Miller, one of our amazing Small Group Leaders, who blessed me more than she could ever know. Her excitement and enthusiasm about where we are headed is contagious.
What meant the most to me about our conversation was when she said (paraphrased),
“Pastor B, we trust you. We trust you. We trust you. You are hearing God and taking us somewhere and we trust you.”
There are people from many different churches that read this blog. I want to challenge you to let them know that you are praying for them, support them and trust their ability to hear God. Go tell them that you are on the team and will support them with your time, talent, money, prayer and encouragement.
When was the last time you went to your pastor and told them you have their back and that you trust them to hear God? I can tell you that it is almost impossible for them to hear it too much. So, go tell them. They need to be encouraged as much as I was this week.
This has been an amazing week.
