Dear Twitter,
I’ve needed to say this for a while. I just haven’t had the guts to deal honestly. I would prefer to talk to you in person, but you always want our relationship to be out in the public eye. So, here goes…
I feel like you are monopolizing my time. The constant texts about what everyone is doing is getting to be a bit much. It is really hard to concentrate when my phone keeps dinging. I really like you and I want to know what’s happening with all of our friends. I just think we need to slow down a little bit. I want to know what is going on in the world and I want you to know what is happening with me, too.
Here is what I need to ask of you. Please don’t text me anymore. I will check in with you several times a day. I promise. I’ll still let you know the funny things that happen with me. I’m sorry. But, we just can’t keep texting like this.
When I am alone with my wife and kids, I need to focus on them. When I am in a meeting, it is important that I not get distracted. This isn’t about you as much as it is about me. I need to refocus. I hope you understand. I still like you a lot and want to hang out.
If you want to know what I’m doing, you can still follow me around. I’ll be hanging out HERE.
I hope we can still be friends…
