old people shouldn’t skate…
Today was the much anticipated Birthday party for Noah. We went to the Skate Barn in Hampstead. Click Noah’s helmet to see the gallery.
The day was a blast and ended with pain killers. Read the picture headings in the gallery to find out why I’m an idiot. Remember, comments help the pain feel better.

Imagine Photos
I believe we will look back on yesterday for years to come and remember it as the tipping point for The ROCK. I am grateful to Millie Holloman for chronicling this historic day. Take a look at a few of the amazing images from yesterday.
Check out Carolyn, our fearless Media Director. She led the amazing tech team that brought the stage to life. That’s me on the sound board. They’ll let anyone behind the sound board. That’s Michael Capace in the background running the board with me. He kept me straight through the show.
Joseph is an amazing dancer. He studies dance at Glory Academy of Fine Arts.
Melanie Haulman is our Artistic Director at Glory Academy and an amazing dancer.
Paul flew a kite… inside… without wind! That takes skill!
My boy, Noah, was the drummer boy. He bangs a mean drum. Also pictured (left to right) are Arianna, McKinly, Keandra and Felicia.

The role of Mary was played by Karen Pray. Karen is a member at PC3 and an amazing actress. She has worked with us on several occasions.

You can see more photos of the production over on Millie’s blog.
God was good to us yesterday and Jesus’ name was made great in our city.

Monday Brain Dump
Yesterday was unbelievable! We had over 1500 people plus cast and crew attend one of our two services yesterday for Imagine Christmas! 1500! As a reference, last Sunday we had less than 400 in our service.
Let me tell you some of the reasons yesterday was such a success.
- First, God gave our creative team the vision for this months ago. It came from Him, not us.
- Many, many people have been praying for a long time for something like this to happen in our church.
- God gave us the creativity, endurance, passion and determination to see it through.
- Our church got behind this in a BIG way! You guys gave a lot of time, talent and money to make this happen.
- Abs is an absolutely phenomenal visionary and facilitator.
- Carolyn has an incredible multi-media team and she is an extraordinary leader.
- Millie agreed to photograph the production for us. That’s her work at the top of this post. I’ll post more images when we get them.
- There were tons of people who served as ushers, greeters, parking attendants, carolers, children’s workers, stage hands, cleaning crews, talent wranglers, hair and make-up stylists, special effects teams, musicians, singers, dancers, actors, lighting crew, sound crew, set designers, bloggers, seamstresses, cafe teams, intercessors, videographers and more! Over 200 people in all worked in some area of this production. HOLY COW! You guys are ROCK stars!
- ROCKERS invited a LOT of people. Over 2000 invitations, posters, fliers and more were given out.
So what do we have to show for it? That is a good question. Yesterday, 22 people chose to follow after Christ! That means there was a huge party in Heaven yesterday! That’s over 130 people committing to follow Christ this year. That is something to be over the top excited about.
I am so grateful to have a pastor who will let us run with the vision. Even if we run very fast. I am honored to serve alongside the amazing staff at The ROCK. It’s crazy how much we are able to accomplish even though we are laughing so hard we can barely breathe. I am humbled to help lead a bunch of crazy, sold out, passionate ROCKERS who call The ROCK home and who have God’s heart for our city.
Thank you all for making this possible. This next year is going to be unbelievable!

Today, our middle son, Noah, turned the big ONE OH! Just like his brothers, Noah makes Jennifer and me proud. He is smart, creative, loving and tackles like a freight train!
Happy Birthday, Noah!
We love you!
Special thanks to our amazing photographer, Matthew Ray. If you’re looking for someone to digitally capture your family, give Matthew a shout.
