It’s been a bit crazy around here again. I thought I would take a few minutes to fill you in.
- Yesterday was Adam’s 6th birthday. I am very proud of him. We had his party Friday night with a few of his friends. You can’t beat a pizza buffet for kids. Then we took all the kids to Jungle Rapids for a little laser tag and video games. Then it was back home for a sleep over. Five boy, sugar and sleeping do not mix!
- Saturday means football at the McGee house. Noah’s game kicked off against the Pirates. They were their strongest opponent to date. Before yesterday, the Pirates were undefeated… until yesterday. The cowboys brought the pain with a 19-0 victory. Noah started on offense and defense. It’s been cool watching him develop as a team leader. Adam’s flag team also brought it with a 6-0 win. Adam’s still getting the hang of the whole football thing. I’m enjoying watching him go for it each weeek.
- On Friday, we found out that Jennifer has three more cysts on her ovary. This comes just five weeks after surgery to remove two cysts from the same ovary. She spent Saturday in the bed loaded up on serious pain meds and could not go to the boys’ games. Yesterday, she went most of the day without any pain meds so she could go lead her team at KIDS Rock. She is amazing! Pray for us today as we go this morning to find out if surgery is necessary again. I hate seeing my wife or kids in pain.
- Yesterday, we started our new series, Jonah. Carolyn did a great job on the set design. She plunged the stage into an underwater set. It was awesome! I talked about porn, having church in a bar and backyard parties as a place to have church. Millie brought her camera, so hopefully, I’ll have some set design pics to show soon. I love bringing the Word to our church. You guys are amazing and I love you!
- You can download yesterday’s message from iTunes later today.
- Yesterday afternoon, I heard some incredible worship with Haley and Kleetus. Two kids, two acoustic guitars, no mics or amps… just incredible music. You guys rock!
- This morning, our staff begins the Chase The Lion small group study. I am very excited about this new direction. Mark Batterson is one of my favorite authors and church leaders.
- Our staff of twelve has already pledged over $2000 toward the Imagine Christmas production before we have even presented it to our church family. We believe we should lead the way and be an example for our church family. If you would like to give towards this significant outreach event, you can do it HERE.
This week is going to be a great adventure. Will you sit back and let the week just pass you by? Or, will you take it as an opportunity to chase some lions?

Looks like a good study you guys are getting into. I will be praying for Jen. You guys are amazing together. i am glad to be a part of the Rock and I appreciate the direction we are moving in. It is awesome that, at least, 3 more people came to salvation through Jesus. Celebrate!!! Ok, now, back to work.
